I checked that section and even ran a page search on case-insensitve 
"mit" but couldn't finds a reference to MIT being GPL-compatible.

The only thing I could recall is that BEFORE the current theme review 
process, I had a theme rejected because it contained an MIT-licensed js 
script.

I dimly recalled seeing something about MIT being GPL compatible but 
when I tried to check in <http://www.gnu.org/licenses/license-list.html> 
it kept timing out. :-(

I'll reject the theme on the basis of the ThemeForest theme on the 
author's site and the lack of any explicit license for the bundled font. 
Then onto the next theme. :-)
