[theme-reviewers] WPTRT best practice: PHP vs. JS

Howdy all,
Which of the following is more likely to pass WPTRT muster:

1) Markdown support implemented in PHP
2 Markdown support implemented in JS

I'm looking to display my README.markdown internal to the options page
and can either implement it in PHP or JS. Which would be the
least-friction option?
