Just an anecdotal calculation, but I would say we get about an order of
magnitude greater volume of spam than we do inquiries from Theme developers.

Also, if Theme developers want to get *answers* from the mail-list members
to their inquiries submitted *to* the mail-list, then it is advisable for
them to join, yes. (I always reply to the list, and generally strip out any
additional email addresses.)

Is there some thought that asking them to do so is overly burdensome? I
hadn't honestly considered that possibility.
