This would make sense, but I don't see the why you can't click that 
checkbox as well.  I actually have some things that I mark as Funny and 
some things as Satire, which is a sub-category for Funny.  The DHTML 
required to have the checking automated would be more complicated than 
it is really worth for most installations.  Having had to write nasty 
DHTML scripts to accomplish similar things it ends up creating a bigger 
mess than it may really be worth.

I'm not in favor of more options mostly because options are often a 
cop-out for not making a design choices for the administrator.  For a

Of course this ends up being a decision that Matt et al will have to make...
