[wp-hackers] keywords in main post attributes -- what do you think?

So this has certainly come up before, but:

Why would "keywords" not be a field in the main post table?

- adding a custom meta field to /each/ post is really a pain with the 
current interface
- I think there are enough people out there for whom it's important to 
be able to specify description (via excerpt) and keywords meta data on 
their post pages (google, my friends, google!) -- and that is typically 
one feature MT has "out of the box" but which is a bit of a pain to 
implement in a friendly way in WP (see the nasty stuff I mention 
somewhere in this post:

What do you think? Are keywords some exotic animal that few people use, 
and that don't justify adding another column to the post table, or are 
they a worthwhile addition to a proud blogging tool?
