 That is, how many templates actually *depend* on that preceding hyphen, as
 opposed to simply accept/tolerate it? For those (I'm guessing, *very* few)
 that do, they can use the same array method as above, right?  It's not
 like the change would result in a broken or borked display; the
 description would still be output, just without a hyphen.

 And for that matter, there are what, 50 templates that have been released?
 (Last time I checked bbshowcase.org, there were 43 listed there, including
 Kakumei I think.)  Wouldn't it be better to change it *now*, rather than
 after there are hundreds of templates released (as with WordPress)?

 Is this behavior emulated by any other such template tag (in bbPress or
 WordPress), in that the *default* behavior is to output something in
 addition to what is expected?

 I think that, as more people start using bbPress and start writing custom
 templates, that this setting is going to become more of an issue.  If the
 right thing to do is to change the behavior, then I would argue that the
 time to do so is *now*.
