#1043: During installation: no error message to warn that PHP MySQL extension is
missing

     Type: defect | Status: new
 Priority: normal | Milestone:
Component: Installation/Upgrade | Version: 0.9.0.3
 Severity: normal | Keywords:
----------------------------------+-----------------------------------------
When installing bbPress 0.9.0.4, the installation appeared stuck at step
 one, as described in [http://bbpress.org/forums/topic/installation-
appears-stuck-at-first-step this forum topic]. Meaning, the installation
page would never progress to step two; the browser would simply return to
the step one page. No error message was displayed.

It turned out that the MySQL extension to PHP wasn't installed; installing
it corrected the problem. There should be an error message to alert the
user when the MySQL extension is missing. It looks like the
`check_prerequisites()` function in `bb-admin/class-install.php` is meant
to produce one, but I did not see it.

I was running bbPress 0.9.0.4 (problem also appears in 0.9.0.3) with PHP
 5.2.8, MySQL 5.0, and Apache 2.2.8 on FreeBSD 6.3-STABLE.
