 Further investigation shows that I am wrong, my apologies.
 It is still working - there is just another (minor) related problem.

 There are several new options in the new builds that apparently are not
 being inserted into the database upon upgrade. This is causing the cache
 to fail and go looking in the database a second time - doubling queries.

 Should these be created in the database in the upgrade routine?
 Even if they are just set to null?
